Bank of Baroda has announced a total of 2482 vacancies for the Local Bank Officer post, distributed state-wise across 20 states/UTs. Vacancies include both "New Vacancies" and "Unfilled Vacancies" carried forward from previous LBO recruitment exercises. Candidates can apply for only one state, and the merit list will be drawn state-wise and category-wise

*For Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, English is accepted as the local language only for candidates who have studied and passed English as a subject from a school located in the respective state. Out of the total vacancies, 42 posts are reserved for Locomotor Disability (LD), 37 for Hearing Impaired (HI), 26 for Visually Impaired (VI), and 25 for the "d&e" PwBD category. The Bank may modify the number of vacancies depending on its requirement

BOB Local Bank Officer Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfil the following eligibility conditions, assessed as on the cut-off date of 01.08.2026, to apply for BOB Local Bank Officer

Candidates who have resigned from an officer-grade position in Bank of Baroda, or exited the Bank while on contract within the last three years as on the cut-off date, are not eligible to apply. Employees currently working in Bank of Baroda in the officer cadre or on contract basis are also not eligible.

Selected candidates for the JMG/S-I grade will draw pay as per the following scale, along with allowances and benefits as per the Bank's policies.

One advance increment will be granted to selected candidates who have one year or more of work experience as an Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank. Salary and other emoluments will be governed by the industry-level bipartite settlement and Joint Note applicable to bank officers, along with bank-specific allowances and perquisites as revised from time to time.

Selection for BOB Local Bank Officer Recruitment 2026 will be based on the following stages:

• Group Discussion (GD) and/or Personal Interview (PI)
• Psychometric Test and/or any other assessment as deemed suitable by the Bank
• Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT), where applicable

The English Language section is qualifying in nature only, and marks scored in it will not count towards the final merit list. There is a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The minimum qualifying marks for GD/PI are 60% for General category and 55% for Reserved category candidates. Candidates must qualify in the Local Language Proficiency Test unless they have studied the local language at the 10th or 12th standard level.
