Height is relaxable by 2 cms for candidates falling in the categories of Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, Marathas, and candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, the Kashmir region of UT Jammu & Kashmir, and UT of Ladakh; and relaxable by 3 cms for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes. Candidates seeking such relaxation must submit the prescribed certificate whenever sought by the Board.

Medical Examination Test (MET)

Candidates who qualify the PST undergo Medical Examination Test by a duly constituted Board of Medical Officers of CAPFs & AR, on the same day or the following day of the PST, as per medical guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA UO No. A.VI-1/2014-Rectt (SSB) dated 20/05/2015, as amended). Candidates are declared either “FIT” or “UNFIT”. Those declared unfit may undergo a “Review Medical Examination (RME)” by giving written consent within 24 hours of being informed of their unfitness; RME is conducted preferably the next day.

No Radial Keratotomy (RK) or other refraction surgery is permitted. Lasik surgery correction is permitted subject to prescribed criteria: interval of 6 months since surgery, age 20–35 years, axial length less than 26 mm and more than 21 mm, corneal thickness of 425 microns, pre-Lasik error up to 6D, vision as per medical guidelines, and normal retinal status.

CAPF Recruitment Info

Candidates must not have knock-knees, flat foot or squint, and must be in good mental and bodily health, free from any medical condition or physical defect likely to interfere with efficient performance of duties.

Tattoo clause: Tattoos depicting religious symbols/figures and the name (as followed in the Indian Army) are permitted. Tattoos are allowed only on the inner aspect of the forearm – left forearm only, being the non-saluting limb – or on the dorsum of the hands, and the size must be less than one-fourth of the particular body part (elbow or hand). Where a tattoo has been removed and has substantially faded, it will be treated as a “scar” and not a tattoo, subject to review by the Medical Board during detailed medical examination.

Merit List

The Medical Officers Selection Board will prepare a merit list based on the aggregate marks awarded to each candidate during the interview. Separate merit lists are also compiled for SC/ST, OBC (NCL) and EWS candidates.

  1. Visit the official ITBP Recruitment website: www.recruitment.itbpolice.nic.in
  2. Refer to the FAQs and “How to Register” links on the website before starting.
  3. Fill your profile and apply online strictly as per the eligibility criteria and instructions given, to avoid disqualification at a later stage.
  4. Upload a clear and legible photo, scanned signature, certificate in support of MBBS or equivalent qualification, certificate for specialized qualification issued by the recognized university, and registration certificate of MCI/NMC/State Medical Council.
  5. Provide a genuine and functional e-mail ID and mobile number, since admit card and all further communication will be sent to these details.
  6. Pay the applicable application fee (if not exempted) through the online payment gateway before the closing date.
  7. Regularly check your registered e-mail (including the spam/junk folder) and the ITBP Recruitment website for updates on admit card and further notices.

Note: ITBP will not be responsible for failure to receive the admit card online, or for power failure, electronic or internet-related problems faced by candidates while applying online. Candidates should come prepared for more than one day’s stay under their own arrangements at the centre, as ITBP reserves the right to issue online admit cards at short notice.
