National Insurance Company Limited (NICL), a Government of India Undertaking, has released the NICL AO Recruitment 2026 notification for 321 Administrative Officer (Generalist & Specialist) Scale-I posts. The vacancies include 200 Generalist posts and 121 Specialist posts in Finance, Legal, Information Technology, Automobile Engineering, Risk Engineering, Company Secretary and Agriculture disciplines.

NICL AO Vacancy 2026

NICL has announced 321 tentative Administrative Officer vacancies. Of these, 200 are for Generalist Officers and 121 are for Specialist Officers.

The vacancies are provisional and may be changed by NICL according to actual requirements. PwBD reservation is applicable horizontally as specified in the detailed advertisement.

NICL AO Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must satisfy the required age and educational qualification conditions as on the dates prescribed by NICL. The educational qualification must be possessed as on 01 October 2026.

NICL AO Educational Qualification 2026

The required qualification should be from a recognized Indian University approved by UGC or a recognized institute approved by AICTE, as applicable.

NICL AO Salary 2026

Selected candidates will be appointed as Administrative Officer (Scale-I). The starting basic pay is ₹82,485 per month.

Selected officers will also be eligible for applicable benefits under company rules, including New Pension Scheme benefits governed by PFRDA, Gratuity, Leave Travel Subsidy, Medical Benefits, Group Personal Accident Insurance and company or leased accommodation as per norms.

NICL AO Application Fee 2026

Applicable bank transaction charges must be borne by the candidate. The fee once paid will not be refunded or adjusted against any future recruitment.

NICL AO Age Limit 2026

The age of candidates will be calculated as on 01 October 2026.

NICL AO Age Relaxation

Where a candidate qualifies for relaxation under more than one category, relaxation may be available cumulatively subject to the maximum age not exceeding 45 years.

NICL AO Selection Process 2026

The NICL AO selection process consists of the following stages:

NICL AO Prelims Exam Pattern 2026

The Phase-I Preliminary Examination will be conducted online for 100 marks with a duration of 60 minutes. Each section has a separate time limit.

Candidates must qualify in each section by securing the cut-off marks decided by NICL. Approximately 15 times the number of vacancies, subject to availability, may be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

NICL AO Descriptive Test

The Main Examination also includes a 30-mark English Descriptive Test of 30 minutes.

The Descriptive Test is qualifying in nature. Its marks will not be counted for shortlisting candidates for the Interview or for final selection.

NICL AO Negative Marking

There is a penalty for wrong answers in the objective tests of both Phase-I and Phase-II. One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer. No penalty is applied to unanswered questions.

NICL AO Interview and Final Selection

Candidates shortlisted after the Phase-II Main Examination will be called for Interview. Final selection will be based on the marks secured in the Main Examination Objective Test and Interview in the ratio of 80:20.

9. Click Complete Registration only after verifying all details.

Important: Candidates can apply for only one discipline. In case of multiple applications, only the latest valid completed application will be retained and fees paid for other registrations will be forfeited.

Candidates must upload a photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration while filling the NICL AO application form.

NICL AO Photograph Requirements

• The photograph should be a recent passport-style colour photograph.
• A light-coloured, preferably white background should be used.
• The preferred dimensions are 200 × 230 pixels.
• The file size should be between 20 KB and 50 KB.
• The candidate's face should be clearly visible.
• Caps, hats and dark glasses are not permitted. Religious headwear is permitted if it does not cover the face.

In addition to the uploaded photograph, candidates will also be required to capture and upload a live photograph using a webcam or mobile phone during the online application process.

NICL AO Signature Requirements

• Sign on white paper using a black ink pen.
• Preferred dimensions: 140 × 60 pixels.
• File size: 10 KB to 20 KB.
• The signature must be the candidate's own signature.
• Signatures in CAPITAL LETTERS will not be accepted.

The handwritten declaration must be written by the candidate in English using black ink and should not be written in capital letters.

NICL AO Probation Period

Selected Administrative Officers will initially be on probation for one year. The probation period may be extended as per company rules. During probation, officers are required to pass the non-life Licentiate Examination conducted by the Insurance Institute of India for confirmation of service.

NICL AO Service Bond

Selected candidates are required to give an undertaking to serve NICL for a minimum period of four years, including the probation period. Candidates leaving before completion of the bond period will be subject to the conditions and liquidated damages specified in the detailed advertisement.
