HPCL Turnaround Consultant Vacancy Details 2026

A total of 24 vacancies have been notified for engagement as Turnaround Consultant at HPCL Visakh Refinery, distributed across roles and HPCL salary grades as follows:

The Salary Grade 10F and 10G vacancies (1 post each) fall under the Senior Grade F/G - Technical Advisor/Turnaround Mentor category, intended for experienced refinery professionals who can provide technical leadership and mentoring for critical turnaround activities, particularly in Static Maintenance.

HPCL Turnaround Consultant Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility

Retired employees of HPCL or other Public Sector Oil Companies having relevant experience for the position applied for are eligible to apply.

Age Limit

The applicant shall not be more than 64 years of age as on 31.07.2026.

Experience Requirement

Applicants must have worked in the relevant department/division in the Refinery Maintenance or Operations Department (as per the position applied for) and should have a minimum of 5 years of experience. Preference will be given to candidates having substantial hands-on experience in major Refinery Shutdowns/Turnarounds (TA), including planning, execution, field coordination, contractor management and safe completion of turnaround jobs.

Other Eligibility Conditions

• A minimum cooling period of 2 months is required between retirement and re-engagement.
• The applicant shall have no major penalty awarded during the service period and no minor penalty awarded during the last 10 years of service period.

Educational Qualification

The notification does not specify a fixed minimum educational qualification; it requires relevant department experience as per the role applied for. The application form (Annexure II) requires candidates to furnish details of their Graduation and Post-Graduation qualifications.

HPCL Turnaround Consultant Salary and Compensation

The monthly fee will not exceed the applicant's last drawn salary (Basic + DA), after adjusting the notional monthly payment arising out of Annuity (without commutation), based on the option of "15 years certain & life thereafter." In addition, reimbursement of conveyance expenses and monthly mobile expenses will be provided as per the Guidelines for Engaging Ex-Employees. No other allowances or benefits will be extended. TDS, as applicable, will be deducted as per taxation rules.

Work Pattern

Selected consultants will work in General Shift or Rotational Shift (8-hour or 12-hour schedule) as advised by the Turnaround In-Charge.

HPCL Turnaround Consultant Selection Process

• Selection will be based on Personal Interaction/Interview of shortlisted candidates by a Selection Committee.
• Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email about the date and time of the interaction/interview. Candidates are advised to mention a valid email ID and mobile number in their application.
• The interview may be conducted online (via Zoom) or in physical mode; shortlisted candidates will be informed accordingly by email.
• No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the selection process if the interview is conducted physically.
• No reimbursement will be provided for joining.

Other Terms and Conditions

• The consultant appointment will be in the form of a contract with a specific termination clause.
• No other facilities, benefits, allowances, or compensation would be permissible except those specifically mentioned in the contract.
• Ex-employees will be required to abide by the Confidentiality Clause applicable to regular employees.
• The engagement period is 3 months, subject to the applicant not attaining 65 years of age during the engagement period and subject to medical fitness.
• The contract may be terminated prematurely by giving 30 days' notice from either side.

Note: Upon selection, candidates other than HPCL retired employees will have to submit a certificate from their respective employers as per the format in Annexure IV.
