ITBP Constable (GD) Sports Quota Eligibility
- Educational Qualification: Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized board
- Nationality: Indian citizen, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan
- Sports Qualification: Must have participated or won medal(s) in one of the recognized levels of competition (International, National, Inter-University, Khelo India Games, etc. – see marking scheme below) between 01.01.2024 and 01.11.2026
- Candidates must possess all required educational and sports certificates on the date of recruitment; those without them are not eligible
- Educational certificates from boards other than Central/State Boards must be accompanied by a Government notification declaring equivalence for Central Government service

Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per the medical standards chart (Annexure-I).
Medical Standards
- Minimum distance vision 6/6 and 6/9 in both eyes without correction (glasses/lenses not permitted); binocular vision required; colour vision tested by CP III (Ishihara)
- Colour-blind candidates are not eligible
- No knock-knees, flat foot, varicose veins, or squint; must be in good mental and bodily health
- Tattoos: only religious symbols/figures/names permitted, on the left forearm (inner aspect) or dorsum of hands only, sized under ¼ of that body part

ITBP Constable (GD) Sports Quota Selection Process & Marking Scheme
Selection follows: Documentation → Physical Standard Test (PST) → Sports Trial Test (qualifying) → Merit List (based on sports achievement marks) → Detailed Medical Examination (DME) → Review Medical Examination (RME), if required. There is no written examination.

Documentation, PST & Sports Trial Test
- Documentation: Verification of original certificates (age, education, caste, sports achievement); identity/biometric verification is mandatory
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Height, chest (male only) and weight checked against the standards above; over/underweight candidates are not debarred at this stage – final fitness decision rests with the Medical Officer at DME
- Sports Trial Test: 40 marks, qualifying in nature, minimum cut-off 20 marks (does not count toward final merit); exempted for candidates who represented India in an International Sports Event with Department of Sports clearance
- No appeal is entertained for re-conduct of the Sports Trial Test
Merit List & Tie-Breaking
- Final merit is based purely on the sports achievement marking scheme (Documentation + PST + Sports Trial marks are not added to merit, only used for shortlisting/qualifying)
- Tie-break order: (1) higher marks, (2) higher National-competition achievement if International achievements are equal, (3) younger candidate, (4) alphabetical order of name in English
Medical Examination
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME) conducted per MHA's Uniform Guidelines for Recruitment Medical Examination (dated 20.05.2015, as amended)
- Candidates declared unfit may opt for Review Medical Examination (RME) by giving written consent within 24 hours; the RME decision is final
- Pregnant female candidates are declared temporarily unfit; their vacancy is held and they are re-examined 6 weeks after confinement, subject to a fitness certificate

- Visit recruitment.itbpolice.nic.in and create a candidate profile with a genuine, active e-mail ID and mobile number.
- Upload a copy of the certificate/document supporting your highest medal/position or highest level of sports participation in the advertised duration before applying – applications without this are rejected during scrutiny.
- Complete the online application form carefully.
- Pay the application fee online, if applicable to your category.
- Submit before the closing date: 01 November 2026, 11:59 PM. Offline applications are summarily rejected.

Important:
Documents Required
- Matriculation/10th class certificate (proof of date of birth)
- Sports achievement certificate(s), signed by the competent awarding authority (National Federation Secretary, IOA, University Dean of Sports, or SAI, depending on the competition level)
- OBC certificate (Annexure-III) with Non-Creamy-Layer declaration (Annexure-III(A)), SC/ST certificate (Annexure-IV), or EWS certificate valid for 2025-26 (Annexure-V), as applicable
- No Objection Certificate (Annexure-II), for candidates in Government service
- Certificate for height/chest relaxation (Annexure-VI), if claiming this relaxation
- Domicile certificate issued by local revenue authorities (special format, Annexure-VI(A), for West Pakistani Refugees in J&K/Ladakh)
- Four latest passport-size photographs (same as used in the online application)
Important Conditions
- These vacancies are not open to physically challenged persons or ex-servicemen
- Selected candidates must serve a minimum of 10 years in the Force; resigning earlier requires refunding 3 months' pay/allowances or training cost, whichever is higher
- No TA/DA is admissible for travel to/from the recruitment venue; candidates should be prepared for a multi-day stay at their own arrangement and cost
- Possession of mobile phones, firearms, or any gadget at the recruitment venue, impersonation, forged documents, or misbehaviour with recruitment staff leads to cancellation of candidature and possible police/legal action
- Admit cards are issued only online; ITBPF is not responsible for non-receipt due to invalid contact details or technical issues
- ITBPF reserves the right to change the recruitment procedure, cancel or postpone recruitment, or transfer unfilled vacancies between disciplines/categories
