Ladakh Police Constable Vacancy 2026

The 331 Constable vacancies are distributed across three cadre/unit groups: Executive/Armed/IRP/SDRF, Border Battalion, and Women Battalion. Border Battalion and Women Battalion vacancies are further divided district-wise, and candidates may apply for these two groups only against their domicile district.

Ladakh Police Constable Eligibility Criteria

Ladakh Police Constable Qualification

Candidates must have passed 10th Class/Matriculation from a recognised Board of School Education. Serving Special Police Officers (SPOs) of Ladakh Police who have completed at least three years of continuous engagement on the last date of submission of applications are eligible with an 8th Pass qualification, subject to fulfilment of all other prescribed conditions. The qualification must have been acquired on or before the last date fixed for submission of online application forms.

Ladakh Police Constable Age Limit

The age limit is 18 to 28 years, reckoned as on 01.01.2026, subject to permissible relaxations.

Domicile Requirement

A candidate must possess a valid Domicile Certificate of the Union Territory of Ladakh. For preference and allocation to the Border Battalion, the candidate must hold a valid Domicile Certificate establishing domicile in an eligible border village. Candidates applying for Women Battalion or Border Battalion vacancies are eligible only against the vacancy pertaining to their own domicile district.

The fee is payable only online, via Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI, through the Recruitment Application Software (RAS) at the time of submitting the online application. Applications submitted without the prescribed fee are summarily rejected, and the fee once paid is not refunded.

Physical Standard Test (PST)

Male candidates: Height 162 cm minimum; Chest 81 cm unexpanded minimum, 85 cm expanded minimum.
Female candidates: Height 152 cm minimum.

Physical Endurance Test (PET)

Male candidates: Long Race - 1600 metres in 7 minutes 30 seconds; Long Jump - 12 feet (three attempts); Push-ups - 20.
Female candidates: Long Race - 1200 metres in 7 minutes 30 seconds; Long Jump - 9 feet (three attempts); Shot Put - 4 kg, 14.5 feet (three attempts).

The PST/PET process was scheduled to commence from 22 September 2026 onwards, venue-wise at Leh and Kargil.

Written Examination and Syllabus

The written examination is Objective/MCQ type, consisting of 100 questions for 100 marks (one mark each), of 80 minutes duration, bilingual in English and Hindi, with no negative marking, and of approximately Matriculation level.

Incentive Marks

Candidates possessing a valid Light Motor Vehicle Driving Licence with transport endorsement, or a one-year AICTE-recognised Computer Application Certificate, may claim incentive marks for only one of the two, up to 5% of the maximum marks of the written examination. NCC certificate holders are eligible for incentive marks as follows: NCC "C" Certificate - 5%, NCC "B" Certificate - 3%, NCC "A" Certificate - 2% of maximum marks.

How to Apply for Ladakh Police Constable Recruitment 2026

Eligible candidates were required to submit their applications online through the designated recruitment portal of Ladakh Police. The general process is as follows:

  1. Visit the official website, https://police.ladakh.gov.in.
  2. Register and fill in the online application form with correct personal, educational, domicile and category particulars.
  3. Upload a scanned colour passport-size photograph in JPG format (up to 500 KB), in white background, not older than three months, with the face occupying 60–70% of the frame.
  4. Pay the applicable application fee online via Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI.
  5. Exercise the order of preference for cadre/unit group, subject to eligibility.
  6. Review all details carefully and submit the application before the last date.
  7. Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.

Candidates could edit their particulars after initial submission until the last date, by logging in with their registered mobile number; however, the Date of Birth and Category fields could not be edited after submission.

The online application link was activated on 29 August 2026 and remained open until 15 September 2026, which was confirmed as final with no further extension. Applications had to be submitted only through the official Ladakh Police website.
