Limited, India's largest integrated power utility and a Government of India Enterprise, has released Advertisement No. 10/26 inviting online applications from experienced professionals for the post of Deputy Manager (E-4 Grade) in the disciplines of Electrical, Mechanical, and C&I (Control & Instrumentation). NTPC has an installed capacity of over 91 GW and has embarked on an ambitious plan to attain a total installed capacity of 149 GW by 2032.

NTPC is inviting applications for 135 Deputy Manager (E-4 Grade) posts - 40 posts in Electrical, 55 posts in Mechanical, and 40 posts in C&I. These are experienced-professional (lateral) positions requiring a minimum of 10 years of post-qualification executive experience, with an upper age limit of 40 years for all three disciplines. Eligible candidates hold a full-time B.E./B.Tech degree in the relevant discipline with at least 60% marks. All three posts carry the E-4 Grade/IDA pay scale of Rs. 70,000–2,00,000 per month. Posting can be at any Station, Project, JV, or Subsidiary of NTPC, and all posts are transferable at the sole discretion of the Management.

NTPC has advertised a total of 135 Deputy Manager (E-4 Grade) posts across three engineering disciplines. The projected vacancies indicated may increase or decrease as per organisational requirement, at the discretion of NTPC Management. The vacancies indicated include backlog vacancies.

*As per the official notification, the SC/ST figures marked with an asterisk include backlog vacancies. Reservation for PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates will be as per Government guidelines, within the identified disability categories listed for each discipline below.

Identified Disabilities for the Posts (PwBD Categories)

A. Deputy Manager (Electrical) – 40 Posts

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech Degree in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics with at least 60% marks from a recognised University/Institution.

Experience Profile: Minimum 10 years of post-qualification executive experience (including training period, if any) in the power sector (Coal, Gas, Lignite) in Operation/Maintenance/Commissioning/Erection/Engineering/Energy Efficiency/Project Management/Field Quality, or a combination thereof, in the relevant discipline.

B. Deputy Manager (Mechanical) – 55 Posts

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech Degree in Mechanical/Production with at least 60% marks from a recognised University/Institution.

Experience Profile: Minimum 10 years of post-qualification executive experience (including training period, if any) in the power sector (Coal, Gas, Lignite) in Operation/Maintenance/Commissioning/Erection/Engineering/Energy Efficiency/Project Management/Field Quality, or a combination thereof, in the relevant discipline.

C. Deputy Manager (C&I) – 40 Posts

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech Degree in Electronics/Control & Instrumentation/Instrumentation with at least 60% marks from a recognised University/Institution.

Experience Profile: Minimum 10 years of post-qualification executive experience (including training period, if any) in the power sector (Coal, Gas, Lignite) in Operation/Maintenance/Commissioning/Erection/Engineering/Energy Efficiency/Project Management/Field Quality, or a combination thereof, in the relevant discipline.

Experience Norms for Govt/PSU Candidates (Common for All Three Posts)

• Out of the 10 years of post-qualification executive experience mentioned above (including training/trainee period, if any) in the executive cadre, candidates currently working in a Govt/Public Sector Undertaking should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the pay scale of Rs. 60,000–1,80,000 or above (IDA pay scale of E-3 Grade or above of NTPC, effective from 01.01.2017) or an equivalent scale.
• Such candidates must also provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer while applying for the post.

Relaxations for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD Candidates

• In terms of educational qualification, only pass marks are required for SC/ST/PwBD candidates to apply (i.e., the 60% marks criterion does not apply to these categories).
• The total years of experience required will be relaxed by 2 years for SC/ST candidates.

Health Standards

Before joining, candidates will have to undergo a medical examination by the NTPC Medical Board/Officer, and their decision will be final and binding. NTPC Deputy Manager Recruitment 2026 Pay Scale

All three posts - Deputy Manager (Electrical), Deputy Manager (Mechanical), and Deputy Manager (C&I) - are at the E-4 Grade level, carrying the IDA pay scale of Rs. 70,000 – 2,00,000 per month (w.e.f. 01.01.2017). The notification does not specify additional allowances or gross salary figures beyond this pay scale.

NTPC Deputy Manager Recruitment 2026 Application Fee

Offline mode: State Bank of India has been authorised to collect the application fee in a specially opened account (A/C No. 30987919993) at the CAG Branch, New Delhi (Branch Code: 00996), on behalf of NTPC. Candidates must approach the nearest SBI branch with a printout of the "pay-in-slip" available on the application portal, and use only this pay-in-slip to deposit the fee, to ensure proper crediting. The bank will issue a unique Journal Number and Branch Code, which the candidate must enter in the online application. NTPC will not be responsible if a candidate deposits the fee into the wrong account.

Online mode: Candidates also have the option to pay the fee online through Net Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card, within the online application form itself. The fee, once paid, will not be refunded under any circumstances; candidates are advised to verify their eligibility before paying the fee.

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST candidates: 5 years
• OBC-NCL candidates: 3 years
• PwBD candidates: 10 years
• Ex-Servicemen: as per applicable Government guidelines

NTPC Deputy  Manager  Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

In order to restrict the number of candidates for the selection process, if required, NTPC  Management reserves the right to conduct a multi-stage selection process, which may comprise:

• Written/Computer-Based Test
• Personal Interview
• Or a combination of the above

NTPC Management also reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility standards or criteria as per requirement. • All experience-related documents for each organisation/company, placed together in chronological order from the first to the last/current company, which may include: Experience/Service Certificate (as per NTPC's prescribed sample format); Offer of Appointment/Appointment Letter/Offer Letter with Confirmation/Absorption Letter/Order on Completion of Training (if any); Joining Order/Letter; Role Assignment orders; Promotion orders; Transfer orders; Organization charts; Form-16; and two pay slips for every year for each organisation, to corroborate the work area/department/section.
